Open Mind...

I continue to keep an open mind on blogging. I am constantly applying this newly acquired information to my kindergarten class and I must admit I struggle to see how blogging can be used effectively in the classroom (at least for these young students). According to Richardson I need some links in my blogs to be "official". That seems too formal. Perhaps as the year advances, my class (as a whole) may create a blog on a unit of study (perhaps one of my up and coming practicum units!!). Stayed tuned!!

  1. That is not a bad idea... blogging about a unit we are woking on. I just have to wrap my mind around how to implement it. I think it would involve many volunteers. We will see!!

  2. I'm also having trouble connecting blogs to my classroom. My issue seems to be more about time and management. Maybe blogs would be better as a tool for you to communicate with other Kindergarten teachers to gather ideas and information. Just a thought...

  3. Keara, thanks for the great suggestion! I think having a teachers' blog is an awesome idea! It's like having a team planning period but with educators from various schools! COLLABORATION is the way to go (am I right teacher leaders??!!)
